Is it too much to ask
you to please—
be the man
you want to be.
Chivalry is only dead
because
you don’t breathe
it life.
What hasn’t been done,
is only waiting for you
to do it.
It’s simple.
Be kind.
Smile.
Tell the ones you love,
you love them.
Dedicate yourself to your
beliefs and passions.
Write what needs to be written,
and write just because.
I know,
it’s easier said than done,
I see the possibility, the potential,
those pent up dreams, and that
scroll of past actions and inaction.
I tell myself,
“Jesse, you’re a good man.”
But still I find
that, despite everything,
sometimes,
I’m still an asshole.
